Do you have a campsite?
Does it look like the one above?
A place of comfort and enjoyment? Looking up at the bazillions of stars at night? Enjoying the fresh air and quiet?
Or is it a place where you’ve set up a tent…
…maybe of anger, frustration, unforgiveness, pride, or one of those other things God detests?
Maybe you just go into your tent to hibernate for a while. Just to be all by yourself.
Today, I have one.
My tent is anger and frustration. It looks like this one…
You see, I was working on my post. Was pretty close to finishing it. I really liked it. But through a process (too long to explain), I managed to say no to saving it.
Well, it had been saved some time ago when I first started it. But this save only saved the original small portion of it. All the effect I had put into it for a few hours was gone. Word didn’t even save it for me, for some reason. It usually does it automatically.
There was no restore point for it. All I had done was gone.
Sometimes, we feel that way in our relationships, don’t we? All the work we put into them, especially if they’re teetering on the fencepost, and POOF! Gone! Destroyed.
Hmmm…sounds like the enemy’s work, doesn’t it? Though mine wasn’t. Human error on my part. A big flub.
Well, that can happen, too. Can just be our flesh acting up. And then, we’ve made a mess of things. Or it’s the other person’s fault. And it’s gone up in flames. The relationship cannot be repaired.
All we can do as servants of the Lord is be humble, asking forgiveness if it’s on our part and forgiving if it’s another’s fault.
And leave it all in the Father’s capable hands. He can do it! He’s the bestest there is.
Sooo…while I’m camped out today, pretending I’m in the first campsite, I’ll just breathe in a sigh of submission and breathe out one for oh-well and carry on.
Let’s camp out in a tent of praise and thanksgiving. It might look like this…
If you’re in the next tent, give me a shout-out!
Yours in tents, Lynn 😉
