I had barely broken into the morning hours when I heard…
“What’s the name of the path you’re on?” whispered a familiar, welcoming voice. ***
“Sir, I chose the path called the Narrow Less-Traveled Way, the path of right standing. You know it. You beckoned me to join You on this journey Home as I stood facing that decision fork in the road.”
“Yes, and you have made the true and blessed choice. However, the destination is not the only reason for the journey.”
“What are the other reasons?”
“Remember I said I was here to help you on your journey by making the right choices?”
“Well, those right choices will help you become more like Me, to live a life of holiness.”
“How do I do that?”
“As we go along together, you will be brought into a deeper experience of true holiness. Though you will also learn My way is not always easy, you will be blessed for we will always share it. When things get tough for you, I will carry your burdens when you give them to Me. When you feel as though My path is too hard for you, you may want to turn back. But the Narrow Way is always the best for you.
“I want to warn you. Diabolus is your enemy and you need to watch out for him. He woos you constantly to walk his path and he uses many names. But his way is fraught with snares and pitfalls, devastation and ruin. He is out to destroy you, to steal from you, to do you in.
“Therefore, stay close to Me on the Sacred Way of Holiness. It is the path for God’s redeemed people. Only those who are right with God and fit to worship Him will walk this path.”
After a few days on this new path, a myriad of voices surrounded me. Luring and enchanting voices. Beckoning me.
The voice of Despair sighed mournfully, “Give up and walk my path of Gloom.”
But the Shepherd said, “Rejoice and rely on My love and faithfulness.”
Unbelief whispered, “Relinquish your beliefs. Walk my path of Doubt.”
But the Shepherd said, “I am the Truth. Walk with Me.”
The voice of Impatience implored, “Don’t just sit there. Get up and follow my path of Haste.”
But the Shepherd said, “Stand still and see Me work for you.”
Then, Cowardice sputtered, “Retreat! Walk my path of Withdrawal.”
But the Shepherd said, “Be strong and of good courage. Never be afraid nor disillusioned, for I am with you wherever you go.”
Discouragement moaned, “It’s all too much, too difficult. Just follow my path of Hopelessness.”
*But the Shepherd said, “Keep going. Never give up. Go in my strength and love.”
Do we walk in holiness with the Lord, walking in agreement with His Word? “Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?” (Amos 3:3 NKJV)
Do we stay on the Narrow Less-Traveled Path?
What’s the name of the path you’re on?
Shared path blessings to you…Lynn
