Help! I’m disconnected from the world! Plug me back in!
Have you ever had this problem?
Red light? Yellow light? No light?
Our internet has been misbehaving very badly. It’s been acting up for over a week.
Connection was out, then it was in…then it was off, then it was on.
On again. Off again. In again. Out again.
It would stay for awhile. Then, it would go bye-bye again.
Emails and websites I tried to open just sat with the little icon spinning eternally.
Even when it was on, I couldn’t depend on it. It said it was on, but it wasn’t.
I couldn’t get some of the work done that I needed to do to, that I had scheduled.
I couldn’t reach out to others. I couldn’t moderate the writers’ forum. I couldn’t respond to anyone.
It messed up my days and made sharp edges out of my otherwise serene disposition.
I felt like this and probably looked like it, too…
It just wouldn’t stay connected.
It was sooo frustrating. Infuriating, actually.
I didn’t even know if I could get this post out for Thursday…which I didn’t. I’m obviously a day late.
Then, another one of those head-slaps hit me…
Oh, Lord! Help! I’m just like this dumb internet! I’m disconnected from You! Plug me back in!
I’m on again. Off again. In again. Out again.
I can’t stay connected.
And what of You, Lord? Do You get frustrated with me, even infuriated with me because I’m off somewhere and not tuned into You?
I’m sure You do, although I doubt it makes sharp edges out of Your disposition.
When I disconnect from You, You’re not able to reach others through me. You can’t work Your plan and purpose in my life. You can’t get the work done that You had scheduled.
I know I’m still connected to You, Lord. You gave me Your precious Holy Spirit to live within me.
Though I’m sometimes slow to respond, Lord, help me to stay linked up with You.
Staying connected in a disconnected world is essential. Staying connected means we communicate with the Lord, praying at all times, sharing our needs, waiting for His guidance, abiding in His Word, listening for those Holy Spirit nudges, and, best of all, whispering and even singing sweet praises to Him.
When we stay connected, the Lord benefits, we benefit, and others benefit as well.
“I am the Vine; you are the branches.
Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit.
However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me]
you can do nothing.” (John 15:5 ampc)
Praying you stay connected…Lynn
PS Obviously, I got my internet reconnected! 😀
